Journeys Of The Crew

Some of my favorite memories didn't begin with a destination.

They began with curiosity.

A trail disappearing into the trees.

An old campsite tucked beside a creek.

A weathered map folded one too many times.

The feeling that there might be something worth discovering just a little farther ahead.

Those moments inspired Journeys Of The Crew.

At its heart, this series is about ordinary kids discovering that extraordinary adventures don't always require extraordinary places. Sometimes the greatest discoveries begin close to home, with little more than a backpack, good friends, and the willingness to ask, "What if we keep going?"

As their world grows, so do the adventures. New trails lead to unfamiliar landscapes, forgotten stories, and opportunities to learn not only about the outdoors, but also about themselves.

Along the way, readers will encounter practical wilderness knowledge woven naturally into each adventure. The goal has never been to write a survival manual disguised as a story. Instead, I hope the skills feel like they belong there because they help the characters solve problems, make good decisions, and grow through experience.

Above all, I hope these books encourage something that feels increasingly rare.

Curiosity.

Curiosity to explore.

Curiosity to notice.

Curiosity to step outside.

Curiosity to learn.

Whether the adventure is found on a neighborhood trail, beneath towering pines, or in one of our incredible national parks, the outdoors has a remarkable way of rewarding those who slow down and pay attention.

If these stories inspire even one reader to lace up a pair of hiking boots, look a little closer at the world around them, or create memories with family and friends outdoors, then they'll have accomplished exactly what I hoped they would.

Adventure is waiting. I hope you'll come along.

The next adventure may be closer than you think.
