Moonlit Lumber |
|
In the image above, the moon was rather bright on this 26 Oct 2017, ~38%, which allowed me the opportunity to catch some of the moon's light reflecting off of the dead tree in the foreground with the Milky Way in the background. This image was taken in November, which isn't the best time of year to photograph the Milky Way in this area. darn, guess I will have to go back next Summer!

The Moonlit CO River |
|
The moon was so bright, even at a mere ~33%, that the Colorado River and surrounding landscape are easily visible.

Peeking Moon |

Above is an image of the Milky Way with an attempt to hid the moon behind a small patch of evergreens.

The Silhouette |
|
Even with the moon being out, I was able to find a few places where I could keep the foreground dark.

Moonlit Cabin |
|
I ran across this old cabin near Lake Irene. The moon was just bright enough to barely highlight the cabin w/o an overly long exposure.

Rocky Mountain Star Trails |
|
One of my favorite images to take is the star trail. Above is a very short star trail. Do you see the "shooting star" in the middle of the image? Can you find the airplane crossing within the frame?
